Personal Journeys - Policy
If you are reading this you are probably thinking about submitting your own journey and I would encourage you to do so. Before you do make sure you are familiar with the following so that you are not disappointed to find your personal journey either edited or just not posted. No dialogue will be entered into if a personal journey is edited or not posted.
- No advertising is allowed therefore brand name products cannot be mentioned only generic terms such as shampoo, lotion etc.
- Discussion of diets, herbal remedies, health supplements, vitamins, exercise regimes and alternative therapies will not be posted as the Scleroderma Society does not endorse any.
- Avoid referring to medication by the brand name instead use painkiller, immunosuppressant, anti histamine etc.
- Avoid referring to people in the medical profession or medical institutions that you have had a negative encounter with.
- Refrain from using language considered by general society to be curse words, swear words, sexually explicit and blasphemy.
- The views, opinions, thoughts and ideas expressed by the users of this page do not reflect the views, opinions, thoughts and ideas of the Scleroderma Society and therefore the Scleroderma Society takes no responsibility for them.
- The purpose of the personal journeys page is that people either with or who have an interest in scleroderma can share their experience. It is not a platform for political, racial, or sexual opinions to be expressed and any such content will be edited or deleted.
- Any threats or derogatory remarks made about another person will be edited or deleted.
- If you are referring to a negative encounter e.g. with the medical profession do not refer by name to people or institutions or describe them in such a way as they are easily identifiable.
- The Scleroderma Society takes no responsibility for any contact a user of the personal journeys page may receive as a result of displaying their email address.
- You do not have to display your email address, however, if you want people to contact you as a result of posting your journey they will not be able to do so as the Scleroderma Society will not forward emails.
- If there are grammatical errors that affect the readability of a personal journey they will be edited.
- You may not include any links to other websites in your personal journey.
- The Scleroderma Society reserves the right to monitor anyone using this page and to suspend usage at any time without having to give prior notice or reason.
