Ulcers should be kept clean and dry. They can be covered with a dry dressing or non-adherent dressing but not with a plaster. Hirudoid™ cream applied around but not on the ulcer may help but it may be necessary to increase the dose of vasodilators, sometimes admission to hospital for an intravenous treatment is required.
