The role of the Trustees is to manage the affairs of the society in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association and trustees are elected every year at the AGM. If you would like to find out more about becoming a Trustee of The Scleroderma Society, please contact us. We currently have two trustees, Helena Rozga and Susie Hoare.
Helena enjoyed a successful and busy career as an Human Resource Director until the diagnosis of scleroderma (year 2000) curtailed this in 2003. She then returned to associate lecturing at University of East London in 2007 whilst also doing some voluntary work. She now manages the Scleroderma Society Helpline and has recently become a trustee for the Society. She married her partner of 23 years, Dave, in 2011 after what she describes as a long evaluation period. She has one son, Gavin, from her first marriage. In her spare time she enjoys oil painting, photography, interior design reading and trying to catch-up with her husband and son who are both IT buffs! Contact Helena
I have been involved in the Society in a voluntary capacity since 2008 in various ways and quickly came to appreciate the many ways in which the work of the Society provides worthwhile services and support to the scleroderma community; working on various projects within the Society over the last few years has been a very enriching experience, both meeting lots of interesting people on the way as well as developing exciting opportunities for the Society and its members, and I am very much looking forward to the next five years as the Society develops in leaps and bounds in the services it provides. Professionally, I work in the translation industry, which is fast-evolving and continuously engaging. On a personal level, I love athletics and am keen runner and cyclist, dabbling in triathlon from time-to-time as well. Contact Susie
