Finding a scleroderma specialist in the UK

The UK Scleroderma Study Group (UKSSG) are specialists who meet regularly to discuss and coordinate scleroderma trials and treatments for people with scleroderma in the UK. The group also collaborates with scleroderma specialists throughout the world including the Scleroderma Clinical Trials Consortium (SCTC) and the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Scleroderma Trials and Research group (EUSTAR).

How to use the list.

If you find a doctor on the list in your area, make sure that his or her specialism is appropriate to your needs. For example, if you have localised scleroderma (morphoea, linear or en coup de sabre) you will require a dermatologist or rheumatologist. If you are looking for a specialist for a young person, you will need a paediatrician.

Once you have identified a suitable specialist you will need to be referred either by your GP or the consultant you are currently seeing. It is helpful to let both your GP and current consultant know that you wish to be referred further.
